Automated Valuation Models or AVMs such as Zillow's Zestimate® use computer algorithms to calculate property values based on public records, tax assessments, and market trends. They are generally accurate within 5-10% of a home’s sale price for standard homes in active markets, providing a quick, cost-effective "ballpark" estimate, but fail to account for interior conditions, upgrades, or unique features such as lakefront footage and other lakefront features.
